The story of Everleigh
Everleigh is the name of a village in Wiltshire, in the south of England. It comes from two Old English words: eofor, a wild boar, and lēah, a clearing in a wood. Like many English place names it became a surname, and more recently a girls’ first name.
It is closely related to Everley and Everly, which are also used as first names. It has no link to the word “ever”, though that sound is part of its appeal for many parents.
Everleigh first reached the Irish list in 2015, with 3 girls. Its best year so far was 2023, when 16 girls were named Everleigh, at number 248. It fell back to 4 girls in 2025.
