The story of Caden
Caden is a new name. American parents created it in the 1990s, when names ending in “-aden” were very fashionable, and it rhymes with Aidan, Braden, Hayden and Jayden. It has no older meaning of its own, and it spread from the United States to Britain and Ireland in the early 2000s.
It first reached the CSO list in 2005. Its best year was 2018, with 23 babies and a rank of number 230 in 2018. In 2025, 13 boys were named Caden.
The CSO counts each spelling separately, so Caden, Caiden, Kaden and Kayden all have their own pages. Kayden is the most common of them in Ireland. In Northern Ireland, 11 boys were named Caden in 2025, putting it at number 185 in 2025.
